This is an unusual and very nicely stylized dancer by Navajo artist Irvin Yazzie. This piece is carved from a single cottonwood root with an intricately carved and painted necklace, an expressive face, and a real feather on the top of the head. The dancer is holding a pot which has significance in burning cedar. Nice use of the natural curve of the cottonwood root and a lot of great imagination! SIZE: 10" X 4" X 2"

The robe rises just enough to see one foot peeking out from underneath with a long tie hanging on one side and the shorter more elaborate one on the other. The hair is well done and the colors are muted desert shades done with natural dyes. Very nice! Size: 15" High x 3" Wide (not including Base) x 3" Deep
